Adobe InDesign Workflow
See how to securely link images into InDesign in our document creation demo.
OpenAsset features the AssetBar - a floating palette from which you can drag and drop your images directly from OpenAsset into InDesign and have them resized automatically for your chosen usage. Creating secure links into Adobe InDesign has never been so easy.
For graphic designers or other people who create documents for print, the AssetBar within OpenAsset is a real time saver.
By dragging and dropping from the AssetBar into Adobe InDesign images are linked to the original file on the server. Once logged into OpenAsset images cannot be moved or filenames changed. This means any links you create to images in OpenAsset will be unbreakable.
OpenAsset only generates files when they are needed for use. This ensures your storage is optimized and once the image is re-sized only one copy exists for everyone to link to.
The AssetBar works with the following applications:
- Adobe InDesign CS
- Adobe Photoshop
- Adobe Illustrator
- Microsoft Word
- Microsoft PowerPoint
- Microsoft Outlook
- Microsoft Publisher
- 3D Studio Max
- QuarkXPress
- Desktop

OpenAsset was the solution that did everything we wanted. We could store images and digital files in simple categories of our choosing, we could search the entire system if necessary to find an image and, crucially, we could drop images into presentations with ease.
