OpenAsset User Group Meeting 2008

Axomic held the annual user group meeting at the RIBA in central London. The purpose of the event was to provide workshops for existing OpenAsset clients, and discuss ideas for future developments. Axomic also launched a new InDesign / Word template feature which will be an important new feature launched later in the year.

This year's user group included two free workshops in the morning. They were targeted at different types of users and designed to help our clients get more from OpenAsset. An 'Introductory and Refresher' workshop was held at the same time as an 'Intermediary and Advanced' session. Both workshops included tips and tricks on how to get more out of using OpenAsset. Feedback from both workshops was extremely positive and a lot of useful information exchanged.

Following on from the workshops lunch was provided in the Jarivs Auditorium at the RIBA. With over 150 delegates attending the event turnout was excellent, and provided a great networking opportunity for users of OpenAsset.

In the afternoon Peter Walsham, Axomic's technical director, gave a presentation on new features ideas on this years development path. The highlight of this presentation was a first demo of the exciting new InDesign / Word template feature. Initial response was very positive and Axomic will be following up feedback from the event with client meetings to discuss how to take this feature forward.

The group then discussed other ideas for the development of OpenAsset 4.0, with many questions being fielded from the floor on how to improve OpenAsset.

The event was a great success with the drinks flowing afterwards. We'd like to thank everyone for their contributions and we look forward to seeing you again at next years user group.
